Amazing, actually authentic Mexican food. Cozy atmosphere. Free chips and salsa while you wait for food. Stellar queso dip, definitely try it!

Had a good experience in this spot with my kids. The food arrives fast and the customer service is just fantastic. Prices are reasonable.

The food is superb. I ordered a pork Jalisco. I enjoy the people who own and work there. Everyone is friendly and the service is great. Now offers alcoholic beverages, non smoking, family friendly. Very clean also. Always a good time and a great meal. Excellent prices.

Gave it a shot because it had good reviews and ratings....but I did not enjoy it. Didnt taste like authentic Mexican at all. Seemed more like a fancier taco bell. Staff was busy, but nice. If you are looking for delicious...authentic...Mexican cuisine I recommend you try la mexicana in Newport.

Try the jalapeno margarita- amazing combination of sweet (pineapple juice flavor) contrasted against a salty rim with cold ice crystals (made mine frozen) and a spicy hot finish.

I was super disappointed at first. The Salsa just tasted like tomato sauce with maybe some chili powder throw in. I stuck it out and the enchiladas(cheese and onion with mole sauce) beans, and rice were all very good. My entire meal with pop and tip was $13. Decent price in this area! I usually end up paying around $18 for the same meal at a few of the other near by places. I will be back, just might skip eating the salsa next time. Servers were friendly enough and quick.

It's reasonable food at a low price, but there's better Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine in the area. I had an a la carte chicken burrito and the Dos Amigos combination plate. The chicken burrito was dry and lacked substantial flavor; it definitely needs hot sauce, queso, or some supplemental sauce. The Dos Amigos enchilada and tamale actually tasted good with their distinct sauces and filings, but the rice and refried beans that came with them were honestly subpar: dry, bland

First time ordering here, and omg! Lol! I got the Pollo Bowl, Chimichangas, and chips with queso...it was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be ordering from here again! Highly recommend! ❤

Montoyas is awesome. Never had bad service or food there. They have fresh salsa...I recommend the chunky. Also their guacamole is fantastic. Highly recommend the Jalisco...a cheese covered burrito that never disappoints. But really anything on the menu is great.

Excellent quality food for a great price. The store is in need of a little renovation, and they need to reapolster some of their seats, but otherwise a great place. It's Mexican done right. Family owned. The staff us always nice and friendly. I highly recommend it.

hi i am obsessed with all of the servers and more importantly, the chips and queso. i love how the friendly wait staff always keeps my salsa bowls overflowing with fresh homemade salsa. i wish i could hire these people as in home cooks and have montoyas everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. ps the fajita quesadilla is the bomb. get one of everything on the menu. you won’t regret it.

The Chori Pollo has a good flavored chorizo that has just a hint of heat. The chicken was juicy and tender.

Was really delicious, huge portions. Great drinks. Mango margarita was fresh mango pulp!! Only complaint was chips seemed stale and heated over. Was early for lunch so maybe left from night before?

I can never say enough this wonderful place. It’s been one of my favorites since I was a kid. I’ve been coming here since Max Montoya owned and it’s quality has never waivered. It’s always been ran by great people who take pride in the service and food they serve.

This Texas native takes her Mexican food seriously! In 20 years of searching, Montoya’s is THE best TexMex outside of Texas (and maybe better than most inside the state 🤫). We have used take out twice during quarantine. Their safety procedures are excellent and the food (and perfect margaritas) delicious as always!

I love this restaurant. The food is great, served in large portions, and fairly priced. The vibe is a family-friendly atmosphere. I have taken several students from Korea and China to Montoyas to have their first real experience with Mexican food and they loved it and wanted to go back for more!

The wait to be seated was not very long, even though we were a party of 5 and the place was PACKED (tip: get there either early or late, the parking lot isn't big enough for all the people trying to get in this place). The decor was, well, Mexican. There are 3 TV's, but it didn't have the feel of a sports bar (thank God). The waitress was great, very attentive, made sure our drinks, chips, and salsa were always filled. Right when I thought the wait for the food was getting too long, it arrived. I got the Pirato Plato with steak. VERY GOOD. They have kid-friendly items too, if you have young ones who aren't into Mexican food. My kids had a hot dog wrapped in a tortilla, nachos with cheese and ground beef, and chicken nuggets with fries. But don't worry, this is a legit Mexican place, with big plates of food that are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place. Also see the photos I took of the menu.
